Replacing a 700r4 with BIGGER trans and LS motor
Hello
First off HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!! I would like some help from you all! I recently bought a Everette Morrison Cobra. Powered with a SBC Transmission 700r4 All riding on a Corvette Suspension I am looking to install a LS2 to a LS 4 motor. I am looking at transmissions 4L60-e would be a nice match.. My questions is would a 6L80 work? Has anyone assembled this combination? Appreciate all your knowledge and if you have any docs or images that would be awesome! Thanks All!!! Cheers from Texas!!! The 700R4 is a great trans. It does not need any computer and the convertor lock up can be controlled by a simple speed switch. They also can be build to be happy behind 750 H.P. plus a low first gear and a 30% overdrive and it hard to think why you would want to swap it?

the 4l60e would be a good mate to the LS engine and compatible with the engine computer for control----

I would check and make sure your trans will bolt to the LS-series, seem to remember there was a change in the pattern with the LS. Also would suggest to get rid of the transverse springs, if you are running them and go to the coilover conversion, it's a bolt in.
