Test for sliping clutch
How would you reconize a slipping clutch?
Motor accelerates nicley and at 4k the rpms increase much faster. Car has never left a lot of rubber on the ground and when it accelerates like it still doesn't. Not sure if the clutch is sliping there....

As you have a TKO 600, use 4th gear preferably on an uphill grade with a constant speed and fairly wide throttle opening to maintain that speed... now stab the clutch pedal to about 1/2 travel and release again, RPM should jump up slightly then return immediately to the previous level. Don't depress the clutch pedal all the way to the floor because some clutch types can be held in the release position by centrifugal force of high engine RPM.

Mine was the same. With a toploader i could tell it slipped in third but mine didnt squeel the tires as much as it felt like it should. With a new clutch now its very obvious how bad it was really slipping.

Just stomp on it real hard in 4th gear several times and just see if you can smell it.

I was told (can't remember from either a complete stop or maybe it was where the car was just rolling) to put it in third and steep on the gas... If the engine really bogged down, that was good, if the engine did not (Rpm's increased) your clutch was slipping.

I like to sit at an idle .........put in top 4 th gear and try to pull off normally .....if the clutch is good the engine will die .....if not the clutch will slip.......

yes,get going about 30mph and then shift to 4th gear and stand on the gas,if the clutch is slipping engine rpms will go off the tach,if it just tries to pull itself and go or bog down some,then the clutch is NOT slipping....
Once it slips in high gear,you'll know it and smell it if you let it slip long enough,which I don't recommend.....
