Anyone run one ? ? Hoping it cruises nicely

Word is they are much too weak for our v8 high er hp applications. Check out David Kee toploaders website

That's what I understand as well. I had one in an Econoline van - 3 speed with a tall OD for highway cruising. The case looks like a toploader, but they're not suitable for any kind of power.

How much power do you plan to put down? If you are building a cruiser, I would suspect it will be OK. If you are going to drive it hard, it will probably fail.

Sounds like the old Borg Warner T-85 3-speed w/ OD. I had one in my '61 Ford Galaxie Starliner with a 406. It was "3 on the tree" with a knob you pulled out to go into OD. It served well on that big heavy car, but I doubt I would consider one for a light car with anything over 400hp.
