Ford Windsor bellhousing question
Can anybody tell me please if the bellhousing from a Ford 302w (manual gearbox type) will fit a 351w engine. I have been offered an aluminium one. Also, are there any implications on clutch/clutch mechanism that I should be aware of? I thought all Windsor bellhousings were iron! Thanks. Ian.

Get an SFI approved scattershield.

Ian,
The bell housing bolt pattern is the same for a 302 or 351W block. Many 5.0 Mustangs (and I'm sure others) had aluminum bellhousings. As most vehicles (especially kits) don't provide much protection a scattershield is usually a good idea for performance applications as even the iron (?) bellhousings are cast.

Option #2, go with the bell housing and use a kevlar blanket for safety.

How many of you are using a Kevlar Blanket? Where did you buy it? How much did it cost?
