Speedo Cable Rotation?
OK, here's a couple stupid question. Which direction does my speedometer cable rotate? Trans is a TKO II.
The reason I ask is because I want to spin the cable with electric drill and make sure my reverse rotation speedo is functioning correctly before I drive the car. Also, if I pull the speedo cable out of the trans, will I lose my tranny fluid through the hole where the cable plugs into the trans (I would guess that I'd lose some, but not all)? Thanks in advance. Mike |
since a normal speedo goes clockwise looking at the face, you'd have to drive the other end of the cable counterclockwise, so you'd want the drill in reverse. You shouldn't get more than a few drops out the hole in the trans if your car is level and the trans is at the proper fluid fill height.

Wade-
Thanks. That makes sense. I guess if I thought about it long enough I could have figured it out, but it was easier to just to ask:D Thanks again. |
