Mcleod spacer?

Does anybody have the dimenson of the spacer that fits between a Mcleod throwout bearing and a T-5?

Are you speaking of a bolt on hydraulic throwout bearing? If so, are you asking which piston is the right depth to place the surface of the throwout bearing the correct distance from the clutch fingers?

I don't think so,

This is a short spacer that slips over the front of the tranny between the transmission and throwout bearing.

I had one on my last Cobra that came with the bearing, it seems it is about a 1 1/2" ID and around an 1" or 2" long, I need the length.

There have been a few threads on this subject and it is important to measure your assembly and then have McLeod send you the correct piston. It is also important to limit total throw with a clutch stop.

I also have the McLeod set-up, and Tony is right. You need to measure the distance fron the clutch fingers to the base of the Tranny, than find out how much volume your master pumps. It was tricky to establish the correct spacing on this set-up. Now that I gave given you no information to your question, here is the web site.

I hope that this helps,

Let me add a little more on the chance it may prove helpful. Assuming you have a McLeod bolt-on hydraulic TOB, it is critical that when everything is installed, the distance between the TOB surface and the clutch fingers is correct. This distance can be affected by four things.
1. The depth of the bell housing.
2. The type of clutch.
3. The location of the face on the transmission where the TOB is bolted.
4. The depth of the piston in the TOB.

Your question about a spacer between the TOB and the transmission addresses item 3. But, the size of any spacer must be compatible with the other three dimensions. If I were trying to solve the problem, I'd install the clutch and bell housing, and then measure the distance from the clutch fingers to the back of the bell housing. Assuming the face of the transmission aligns with the back of the bell housing, I now know how deep the TOB has to be. I'd then call McLeod technical support and ask them which TOB and piston was correct for that depth. ... Good luck.
