Dog ringed?
What is the difference between dog ringed tranny and a synchro tranny? More specifically is it stronger, shift better, hold up longer, etc? Are they that much more noisy? Thanks for the comments.

A Jerico has dog ring engagement. It is noisy but very easy to shift. I shift mine under full power but it does wear the edge of the engagement teeth. There is a larger air gap between the teeth so it will bang and clank when driving easy. I would not want to drive it on the street but have customers that do.
Most stock street type transmissions are synchronized. This setup is quite reliable and will last for a long time. The synchronizers match gear speed with the output shaft speed when a shift is accomplished to allow a quiet, smooth non destructive gear change.
