Not sure if they can help or not but a phone call won't hurt....

They sell Tremec 3550's and TKO's.....good luck, Earl

I'd go with the .6 5th gear myself. .8 is just TO high!

It depends somewhat on the rear end.
My car with a 3.08 rear end; which makes for a very nice 1st, 2nd feel; can't be driven in 5th less than 80 mph.

I have a TKO-2 in mine and I really like 5th for cruising at speeds over 50. I say cruising b/c the car is practically idling at under 1500 RPM. It's nice and quiet so you can actually have a conversation with a passenger. I don't know what the ratio of my rear end is so can't help you there. All I know is it's a big difference from 4th to 5th with 5th clearly being an overdrive gear.

good luck.

I don't recall the exact quote but it was way too cost prohibitive for me. I'm guessing about $750-$1000. Changing the gear isn't the only thing that needs to be replaced for a .82 ratio. That doesn't include R&R of the tranny either.

Niles,

To change the gears would be very costly, your best bet would be to sell your .64 TKO and the purchase a new .82 TKO600. jimig@standardtransmission.com
