T45

Hi Guys,
Could someone please tell me if it is possible to mate a T45 to a 84 windsor block?
If it is possible is there a source for adapter plates etc.
Any help would really be appreciated.

Regards Shane

Shane, did you ever get any information on this. I just got a good but cheap T45 & am asking the same thing for a '72 302/5.0 block.

Hi Scott,
sorry I drew a blank on this one so have gone with a WCT5 for the moment, it should get me on the road then upgrade to a 3550
Regards Shane.

I am told that it won't work. The T45 BH bolt pattern, although close, is not the same as the 302 block (and T5 BH).

I have not found out if the input shaft or pilot bearings are compatible. But that is irrelevant if the BH won't bolt up.

Hello Scott,
Thank you for your reply, that is pretty much the info I have gleaned after hours on the web, so I am going for a T5 which should get me airborne till something better turns up!!
Regards Shane

Better late than never....

No you cannot mate a t-45 to anything other than a Mod-motor (4.6 or 5.4L) Reason why is that the bellhousing that matches the mod motors is not removable from the transmission. The Bellhousing is also a essential part of the T-45's casing.

I own a t-45 and a t-5 as well as a 302 and 4.6L No mixing and matching was possible.
