speedo gears in a toploader

I have a newly rebuilt Toploader from Southern. The speedo gear, inside the tailhousing, is pink and I don't yet have the driven gear for the cable. David Kee says that the there is no driven gear that will fit the pink internal speedo gear, and still be accurate with my 3.31 Jag diff/15" Trigo wheel setup. He recommended replacing the internal gear and getting the matching driven gear. Southern said they'd check on it, but I have yet to hear from them (2d). So I'm not sure if I should just use the "wrong" driven gear, and live with a little speedo error, pull the nicely mounted tranny and fix it right, or if my internal gear is truly wrong afterall. Anyone have any ideas here? Thanx.

Just get the speedo working first and use a gear adapter to correct the ratio.

Or

Bob is correct, get it working and then adjust.

You may want to look at electronic speedo.

Just a thought
