Is there someone that can tell me how to identify a small block C6??
I picked up a parts car (van) a 79 ford small block auto . . .
Any Idea how to identify the trans as a small block C6? Sorry but I am new to the ford stuff . . . I think it has a 9inch rear . . . probably going to salvage the carrier too. Thanks Also the vin # EO4GHFA4270 Trans code G axle code 51 |

All C6s are the same internally. The difference is in the bellhousing. As the bellhousing is part of the case, you cannot interchange between small and big block. To identify a C6 look at the tranny's oil pan. The C6 pan is a square with a corner cut out. See attached pic. Paul |
