Rear seal on Tremec 3550

Hello all,

my prop shaft made by a professional prop shaft supplier is made to fit my 3550 tremec.

But tremec is not a real common tranny her in Germany, therefore the company had a "inner" rear seal in mind as they fabricated the part according my drawing and measurements.

I found out the small problem directly during assembly but accepted the situation for the rest of the summer.

Now the rear seal of my tremec is damaged a bit and leaking because it is sealing "outside" and too far rearwards arround the unmachined part of the yoke.

I don't want to shorten my prop shaft!

Has anybody a part number for a rear seal mounted as the original part but going to the inside of the tremec?

Next winter I want to replace that leaking red thing by one not sticking out of the tranny.

Thanks,

Uwe

you can go to TTC web page and down load pdf file for complete 3550 and see parts list.

Lew,

they just have one part#!!

But we found a smaller rear seal in a common T5 repair kit.

The one normally comming with a Trmek is the seal with a mud protection lip on and needs 10- 15mm extra sliding length at the yoke.

This one and the smaller one(without that lip) come together with the repair package.

Thanks,

Uwe
