slapstick?

hey, well heres the jist of my problem, i can build an engine like no bodys buisness, but i know jack about a tranny, I saw a yellow corvette that was really tricked out, and had a tranny the guy called a slapstick, it had a lever for every gear, and he drove it on the street daily, but said it was mostly for racing. does anyone know anything about a tranny like this and if so where could i get one?

Griffin;
I'm not sure, but the tranny you're describing may be a Lenco. I have a picture of one in a book at home, but I won't be home until Christmas. If I remember correctly, it was described as a "racing only" trans.

yeah thats about what the guy said about it. that it was intended for race use only, but he did drive it on the street alot. I'm intrested in getting one for my mustang, but haven't seen the guy since, and aven't been able to find any info on the style of trans he had.

Sizzler, that's pretty wild. I didn't even know a street version of that puppy existed. No missed shifts here! Seems like it would get tiresome on the street though.
