Tremec Sender Question

1 Attachment(s)
Having purchased a speedo sender plug from Classic Chevy, I am not sure I have chosen the right one - ie is the older Tremec and newer 600 different

The attached diagram shows the problem. The pins in the Tremec do not match with the ones on the sender. If the plug is pushed in they locate to either side with the plug body spacing them.

Anybody know if this is right (ie they sense the signal through the plastic body or do they have to mate as I think they probably should do. Your comments would be appreciated. The box is a TKO 600 by the way.

Thanks and Happy Xmas Guys.

Mike,

I am not familiar with that particular sending unit, but since plastic is an insulation type material, I would think one of two things. Either you have the wrong unit, of they would use the metal where you push it in to make a connection between the terminals, which makes no sense at all. I am guessing that this unit has a key or something that makes it go in just one way. Sorry that I can't be of more help.

Mikey:

The TKO 600 electric speedo sensor we sell (part#LC 12222) is for "GM" TKO 600. Do you have a "Ford" TKO 600?? If so, that is probably the issue. We only sell Chevy/GM TKO's

We have sold dozens of those electric speedo sensor for GM TKO 500 or 600 with out any issues.

Hope this helps,

Thanks, Scott Lindquist
