Another Tremec Gear Ratio Question
I'm running a 3.73 gear ratio with a Tremec TKO-II .82 5th gear. At 70mph, my RPM is around 3200. I have a 302 with a 8lb Vortech SQ-Trim and my wheels are 245/50 16 inch.
Changing the gear ratio to a 3.55 will give me more RPM at 5th gear to play with - RPM at around 2800 instead of 3200. How would acceleration be affected? |
THe difference between 3.73 and a 3.55 gear are really not all that big .Your acceleration will be just fine going to 3.55 and you should be very happy with them . Lots of guys here are running 3.55 it a great all around gear , I feel
