Fe Bellhousing Question

Will a FE bell housing for a top loader ( orginal or after market ) fit the new TKO 500/600?

It will, but you'll need the aluminum adapter to use with a TKO.

adapter ?

aluminum adapter ?

Is this a plate that mounts between the bell housing and trannie? Or a ring that goes around the trannie shaft and into the bell housing?

It's a plate that mounts between the trans and bellhousing. The input shaft on the TKO's are about an inch too long.
I think there's somebody that offers a TKO with reduced shaft but I don't recall who.
Maybe someone else can come up with the name.

I forgot to mention, I got mine from Southern Automotive. ($150)

Yes, I'm using the Lakewood FE bellhousing. You can get a shortened input shaft for the TKO and avoid the adapter. That is what I did.
