Looking for advice
:confused: I could use some advice. I'm having trouble marrying up my rebuilt 460 (w/ Edelbrock Perf RPM) to a Tremec 5 sp. I picked a Lakewood Bellhousing. I'm also using a Centerforce Dual Friction clutch and Flywheel. I calc'd the distance and know I need to shorten the input shaft. My problem is with the clutch fork, pivot, and throwout bearing. I can't get a good answer from Lakewood. All I'm looking for is a combo of parts to stick in the B/H so I can shift this beast. I'm going to pick up my stage1 from LoneStar in 2 weeks.

I am not sure of your question but I will try and answer what I think you need to know. To shorten your pilot shaft, place a straight edge over your bell housing after you have bolt up your transmission. Determine the amount of your pilot shaft that extends beyond the end of your bellhousing (if any). Then determine the difference between your bell housing mounting surface on your block and the end of your crank shaft (you don't need your clutch installed for this). Next with your pilot bushing installed in the back of your crank determine how much of your pilot shaft needs to ride in the bushing (about 3/4" I think). Next take your trans to a trans shop and have the end of your pilot shaft cut off so that you are not riding the end of the pilot shaft against the end of your crank, probably about 3/8" to 1/2" needs to be cut off and beveled.

Sorry if I wasn't specific enough.
I need a combo of part numbers/suppliers for a Clutch fork, throwout bearing, and ball pivot. The standard "Stock type" parts for a Mustang just don't seem to fit together. I'd consider a hydraulic throwout bearing if you know it'll work. SJG |

He had a short shaft put in my TKO600 ( much like your T5 ) and supplied the TO, Pilot and clutch. It is supposed to arrive today or Monday, but He seems to know a lot about these transmissions. Additionally, he used to work for LoneStar and seems to know the car pretty well. Hope this helps. |
The new style McLeod Hyd T/O brg works great and has been in my car for over three years with NO problems. I am going to assume you need the Flywheel, Clutch, Pressure Plate, T.O.B., pivot and Fork?
