c6 questions
I have a ford c6 automatic hooked to a 429 ford that I want to test run for a few minutes. The trans has no yoke in it,and the trans is dry. Will I damage the trans if i do this and if I fill the trans with fluid must I have the yolk in the trans ? Also , are all of the yolks for the c6's the same spline? Thanks:JEKYLHYDE

Hi NJBIGBLOCK,
Dunno the answer. I'd call Carl Rossler at http://www.Rossler Transmissions, Inc., (330) 530-5000 to find out ;) BTW, it's yoke, not yolk, no joke    Tom |
I'd say that you would damge the tranny running it dry. The yoke splining should be the same, although they are not the same, for your purpose any one will do. I also believe that the manual trans ones are the same splining as well. That indicate sthat I feel you should install a yoke, although it is mainly a cleanliness issue....no fluid leakage. You also want to make sure that you run a line between the 2 oil cooler fittings, but a cooler isn't needed for your purpose.
