Mechanical Clutch linkage at bellhousing
I have a 351W, McLeod BH, Ram Clutch, Tremec TKO. I want to use a mechanical clutch cable and would like some advice and/or pictures of how you guys set up your clutch linkage at the Bellhousing. My clutch arm needs to go to the rear to release the pressure plate. I suppose I will have to fabricate a bracket but was hoping to get some guidance.

With using a cable, you're probably going to have to fab up a bracket. Most use a hyd slave, so probably not much manfactured for a cable that pulls from the rear.
Maybe bracket it to the frame of the car. Just a thought. Larry |
If you must use a cable (?) have the inner cable go through the lever from the front and achor on a fabricated bracket attached by the 2 bolts that attach the transmission to the bellhousing. Have the outer cable and cable end stop at the lever. When the pedal is depressed the outer cable will slide and "Push" the lever to the rear.
A hydraulic setup is a better way to go when the lever must go to rear for release. |
Thanks, Maybe I should have thought of this when I bought the clutch. If someone has pictures of or can recommend a "push" hydraulic set up I would appreciate it. I haven't worked on cars in years and cannot believe how far behind the curve I am. Bob
