It's sad to say that one of the weak links in our cars is a brand new $1900 trans that's rated for 500/600 lb-ft of torque.

I put a new TKO500 in my car. The car hasn't been on the road yet, but I'm already dreading the possibilities of gremlins coming my way.

I'm sorry to hear that -- pulling the tunnel out and taking the top of your trans off is a big PITA. I'm sure you remember this thread: http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/transmission-talk/72282-tko-600-stuck-2nd-gear-3rd-time.html and the fact that we still don't have Tremec's position on this obvious flaw.

jdog,

Wow, that sucks! I guess I have been fortunate. So far, at 2800 miles, nothing wrong with mine. Accept ordering it with the .64 instead of the .82. Sometimes I had a little trouble getting it into reverse. I read if you shift to 2nd just before you shift to reverse it should do better. Have been doing that lately and it is a world of improvement.

Now if I could just get all the other bugs out oif my car!

BTW...are you going to any BACC events this year? Not Knotts, WSCB, Tour Di Vin, etc?

Later....

Mike

Maybe?

Mike, I may make it to some events this year, if I can ever get this thing registered & on the road! :o

jdog,

Ya next to the grueling wait for the car that CA Regist. is a *****. I stressed from May of 05 to January 06 when I was fortuante enough to get my SB100. Whew! What a relief.

I hope you luck out also.

still locked?

J,
Did you get it unstuck? Maybe try rocking the car fore/aft by pushing and pulling on the rollbar just a little to see if it will help; ease it back and forth barely. Sorry to hear the gremlin got you. AND, are you coming to the Bash in Tom's booth or anything? - if so, you'll need to let him know; we're full on hotel rooms and spots...DC

jdog 04-02-2007 08:56 AM

Tues or Wed

I tried everything I could think of, to get it un-stuck, no luck.

Tom will get it into the shop on Tues or Wed to have a look. Once he gets it un-stuck, it's on to BAR.

I offered my car to Tom for the bash if he would like. If I go to ths bash, I'll stay in my RV.:)
