I didn't know Tilton made bellhousings. What is wrong with a Lakewood or stock bell housing? Are you planning on racing your Cobra? If I recall correctly I never had any problems bolting up a T-5 to either stock or Lakewood sb bellhousing. I do like using the roller input bearing that you press into the back of your crank. Pretty much a slam dunk.

Talk to a tech at Tilton. They helped me with my setup along with the proper settings, maintenance tolerances, and how to treat the clutch. They have an excellent tech support: http://www.tiltonracing.com/content.php?page=contactt

Another good source is Mike Forte. Mike has experience with this combination and was helpful to me as well:

This is a fairly technical question as the Tilton must be setup correctly and maintained to work well. I don’t know what kind of clutch you’re using but with the 53 series, as with any internal hydraulic, it is very important to use a pedal-stop to prevent over-traveling the pressure plate and/or TB, optimum disengagement, smoothest shifting, and helps you monitor clutch wear. Also, make sure you sweep your bellhousing. The Tiltons are very accurate but I had to shim a few thou even after indexing. Keep alignment under .006” and your tranny will be happy.

Good luck.
