AOD shift lever position

I am installing an AOD and need to know the shift lever orientation.
The lever on the tranny points up, so is forward park and back all the way low?
Thanks!

The floor shift versions are different than the column shift ones, and I believe that is the floor shift style. If so then all the way back should be park. It's very easy to tell since park is just a "ratchet pawl". With a yoke in the tranny, rotate the yoke while you move the shifter from one extreme to the other, when it's on park it will stop rotating. The pawl will be locked, that's park.

I have a AOD in my Cobra with a B&M shifter; park is all the way foward &
1st (low) is all the way back.

I think he was interested in which way the lever on the trans was ..not the way the lever in the floor is. They are not the same. The shifter moves forward while pulling the lever to the rear. So the park position, on the tranny, is all the way to the rear.

WDZ, you are correct.
I checked it tonight with a yoke and park is all the way back.
Thanks!
