Shifter locations
I am building a 427 model car. Can anyone tell me if they have tried the bent shift lever and a mid shift kit in a TKO600, what they liked best about each.
It just seems that a 289 type shifter would work better going straight back and forth instead of up and down.

I use a straight shifter in my 428 FE w/toploader because the trans came out of a '66 Galaxie. The shifter body was from a Sunbeam Tiger, which fits the Galaxie tailshaft. The shifter position and throw outweigh the original looks of the bent shifter.

I use a short slight bend forward in the mid position on my TKO600. I like the shifter low.
