Sorry guys, another TKO600 Question

Hello guys,

I'm working on a new CSX from Shelby, and it is the first I've ever done. Everything has been workable so far except this one snag: I can't find an engine mount to fit this this properly. Also, there is a flange on the front of the crossmember that seems to hit the TKO at the bottom. If anyone has encountered this or has any suggestions, they would be most appreciated.

Thanks guys,

Bobby

My car was set up for a Toploader and you can see what I did to make the tremec work.

Thanks for the input guys, I think it is time for that flange to come off.

Does anyone have a part number for the mount they used? I still don't think the one I have will work.

what engine are you running?

csx wnab 07-26-2008 10:45 AM

bobby, the mount for a big block Care part number CP1153A. the part number for the small block is CP1153B. now those are the original style mounts for the 427 and 289. the phone number to order is 770 427 0020. thats the Cobra Restorers. good luck

Sorry man, been out of pocket.

I'm running an FE 427 with the Tremec TKO 600. So far the problems I've had are that the mount either fits the TKO or if fits the cross member. I'll have to call those guys tomorrow, see if they have any recommendations. Other than that, it seems you just have to go with a mount and modify it.

Could you post a pic of your problem? Does your car have an aluminum body?

These pictures might help...

Hey guys,

I wanted to thank everyone for their input, as it was all very helpful. For future reference, if you're trying to install the TKO 600 in a CSX7000, the mount from Cobra Restorers is the same you can get in an autoparts store, and it doesn't really work. While it was more expensive, I had to go ahead and order the Kirkham mount. I haven't had time to monkey on it yet, but it looks like it'll do the trick. I'll let everyone know what the outcome of this one it. Here's to hoping, or making it work.

Bobby
