Stall converter?

Hey guys, I have a hot rod truck that weighs about 3400 pounds and am wanting to use this 408 stroker from Keith Craft:

Truck will be a street driven truck. I have a c4 trans and 9 inch with 3:50 gears

What size stall converter should I use?....this engine makes 485 pounds of torque at 3200rpm so I figured I might even be able to use a stock converter

Where is the peak torque for the motor? From the sounds of it, its probably down pretty low. I'd use a mild stall speed converter. Something around 3000 PRM.

from the dyno sheet on the website peak torque was at 4600rpm with 533pds of torque

I would use a 3500 if you are going drag racing or a stock one for the street

So you think it would pull good enough on the street using the stock converter? That would be great!

The way it will pull thru the brakes, get good brakes and a strong leg.

I don't think you'll like the way the engine behaves with a stock converter. Why cheap out on the converter anyway after putting such a nice engine in front of it ?

Here is some info from Summit Racing that has a lot of good stuff. There is more to picking the correct converter than you might imagine.

Would this engine do better with an AOD since I'll be driving it on the street...maybe even save some gas lol. The AOD is about $700-$1000 more than getting the c4 built to handle this engine, I figure it would be worth it in the long run
