3550 to tko600 speedo drive swap problemo

the unit that drives the speedo from the 3550 is a mechanical/electrical combo and it will not fit the 600 without some grinding on the mount.

so is it correct that these will not interchange?

also there are a few more hookups on the 600, mid left side front are two brass threaded posts, upper portion behind shifter is a pigtail, and right side has some kind of covered connection. anybody know what these are for? i figure the upper left behind shifter is neutral safety switch.

thanks

Back pigtail is the neutral safety switch, front driver's side switch is reverse lights.

Speedo has an electric sender on the pass side and a hole on the driver side for a mechanical plug.

thanks, i'm just trying to figure out how to get the sending unit into the transmission or if i need to buy a different one.

does anybody know if the sending unit is the same so that if i do grind the mount it will work?

fyi it'll switch over, just have to grind some clearance off the left ear of the mount.
