tko600 on stroked 351w
My engine builder continues to rmind me that I need a spacer to install a tremec tko-600. I need a bit of help understanding this. The why and part numbers. Thanks

I guess it depends on which model of TKO you get. I'm using a Ford Motorsports safety bellhousing (M-6372C) and TKO 600 (M-7003-R58C). No spacer needed.

Same combo as You with a Lakewood BlowProof & a spacer, I let the TKO guys send me the correct spacer.

Guys, you can also use a Quicktime bellhousing. They don't require a short input shaft or a spacer. They also are SFI approved and only weigh 20lbs. I'm a distributor, let me know if you have any questions.

about the end of 1st page and start of second are two clutch choices, if i was to do it again i would go with mac vbach's recommended setup. with either of these clutches you can use a lightweight aluminum bellhousing, i wouldn't recommend either of these clutch setups or bellhousing if you are doing drag strip time.

Was your engine builder trying to sell you a transmission that he had? If that's the case, he might have a transmission for a GM application.
The input shaft on the GM spec TKOs is 6.60" inches from the front side of the main case to the end of the shaft. On the Ford applications, the shaft is 6.0" from the front of the case to the end of the shaft, thus you would need a spacer to keep the input shaft on the GM transmission from bottoming out in the crankshaft.
Just a thought...
