Centerforce Dual Friction Clutch

Need some info.

I lucked out and picked up a new Centerforce Dual Friction Clutch for my 460 at a price I couldn't pass up. But I need to know if the Tilton 600 - series hydralic throwout bearing will work out with my Tremec 600? If any of you are running this setup I sure would appreciate your input.

Jeri, I will share what I learned, I was in your shoes 2 years ago. My set-up is a 460 Crate motor witht a TKO 600 trans using a short input shaft. I tried a Center Force clutch with the centrifugal weights, the disc was correct spline for the TREMEC. I am using a McLeod HYD TOB because I have almost no room to use any other type. I could not find a McLeod bearing diameter that would clear the Center Force weights (bearing interferes with weights) so I retrurned the CF clutch to SUMMIT RACING (I love their return policy!) So I called up McLeod and I am now using their flywheel/clutch now (they have a selection based on your intended use/application. I am using the 6.25 inch depth Ford Cast Iron Bellhousing for the 351M/400M/429/460 as my car will be street use only. I dont have any miles on my set-up yet, still in the build phase so cant tell you about durability only what fit correctly.

Most of us remove those pesky CF weights, even with a traditional fork and TOB (which is what I have). Chuck Brandt talks about his problem with the weights on his site: http://www.chuckbrandt.com/living.htm

I am glad I did not view the attached link until after owning a cobra. If I would have seen that first I would have never purchased one. Way to many problems and issues. I thought I had a problem when my turnsignal did not work, WOW!!

Sorry for getting back so late, came down with the flu.

Thanks for giving me some insight on the CF clutch. I think you might have talked me out of using it. I don't want to have to deal with removing the weights. With my luck some time down the road I would have a problem.

It looks like I'm back to square one on deciding what clutch to use with a HTB. I might look into the McLeod setup, that is, minus the their HTB. I have read too many bad horror stories from club members on how they leak.
