Brake or clutch mstr cylinders ??

I am working to get more travel from my external clutch slave cylinder to completely disengage the clutch disk while having slight pressure on the TOB at rest. I had a 7/8 Tilton. I swapped in a 15/16 Tilton master and not much improvement in the slave travel. I am considering trying the 1 inch diameter Tilton master. The specs say these Tilton masters have a 1.1 inch stoke. Is that the problem? Do masters designed for clutch slaves have a greater stoker thus more hydraulic fluid to the slave?

what size is the bore of the slave?

Slave cylinder diameter looks to be 1"

I am attempting to use the slave cylinder that is already in the car. It is mounted to back of bellhousing and pushes the clutch arm forward (to the front of the car) because the builder of this car (in 96) used a clutch arm that pivots on the passenger side. I have been told this clutch arm was designed to be used with a cable actuation.

At any rate, the slave is Wagner Lockheed which I beleive is 1" in diameter. I did install the 1" Tilton master and the slave now travels further. I believe enough to complete disengage the clutch:) If so, I will backoff on the shaft exiting the slave a little to provide less pressure on the TOB when the clutch is at rest / engaged.

I believe that the PO had the clutch master cylinder swapped to a smaller one to make the clutch easier to push. The effort to operate the clutch has increased but I need the travel at the clutch arm. Maybe now I can truely enjoy my new TKO600. Before getting on the road I need to check for brake fluid leaks%/

should have about 1/8" clearance between the push rod and the fork when pushing the two in oposite directions. use a return spring to pull the fork toward the slave so in the relaxed position there will be clearance between the t/b and the fork. you don't want he t/o to be spinning all the time..
