Great Cruise Tonight - JR Tobacco
The once per month cruise night is on for tonight at JR Tobacco, 301 Route 10 East in Whippany, NJ. You should try to get there by 5:30 as it fills up quick.
Participants pay three bucks which gets you into the private lounge with a small buffet, beer, soda, etc. You get 2 cigars with cutter and matches (non smokers can donate to me). Plus a dj and more. See you tonight! Roscoe |
I'm going to do my best to be there, but will never make it by 5:30. If I'm not able to get there by 7:00 will I still be able to get in, or will I have to park at the Home Depot? :)

It's hard to say, I've only been there once. I think you will be able to get in if you get there before 7 but I would suggest you get going as soon as you can. Hope to see you there, Roscoe |
Well I just got back from the JR cruise night. It was me, Bill Karns and Frank Coppola. The place was packed!
Was a great night with lots of Cobra talk, a few beers and lots of looking at great cars. See you next month, Roscoe PS: good meeting you Frank. Too bad I couldn't stay and chat some more. The wife was waiting to split. R |
What an awesome night! Roscoe, it was a pleasure meeting you and Bill. I look forward to our next meeting. Please keep me posted on that track event in the Pocono's you were telling me about. Both of your cars looked great. Knowing the number of hours I spent working on mine, I can't imagine how much work you guys have put into yours. Well worth it!
- on the way home last night I made it to the Morristown exit on 287 and then had my driver's side, rear tire blow out. :CRY: :CRY: :CRY: When the kid showed up to tow me home, I couldn't get too aggrevated as he said: "Holy &%^, it's not every day I get to tow one of these: Thanks, Mister!" -now I just have to get this fixed so I can meet "Speed Waxer" tommorrow in Glen Gardner! Again, it was great meeting you both. Who had the red cobra with the hood down the whole night? |

Too bad about the tire. Do you carry one of those Fix-a-Flat aerosol cans? I have two in the trunk but hope I never have to use one. Roscoe |
I wish I could have said "It's only flat on the bottom." But the tire really blew out; ripped to shreds. The tire guy at STS said there was slice on the sidewall and that I probably was driving on it for a while with little or no airpressure, thus the explosion of the entire outer sidewall. What a mess. Good lesson learned though. Next time I leave an event I'm really going to give the car a once over. Alot of crazy people out there.
I was thinking of getting one of those drag racing front rims and a tire suitable for a spare. What do you think? Unfortunately I'm SOL for tommorrow's show in Glen Gardner. Maybe I can paint some white stripes on my Excursion and take that instead. |
