Hey Bill.....
...when I saw this thread topic again, I thought some of the "Waste Wanagement" companies had set up a drag racing night for their rigs!

Re: Hey Bill.....
John,
I've seen people race gas powered toilets, bathtubs, shopping carts, lawnmowers (with BB Chevy engines no less) even beer kegs. But I've never seen a gas powered waste recepticle before..........HHHHHHHHHHHmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, perhaps we have found a new venue for our winter blues (not including snow mobiles that is).............You build the prototype, we'll all come down and check it out to see whether or not we should follow.......... Bill S. PS: Wonder what I can charge to chassis dyno a garbage container :D :D :D .......... Quote:

I'm in. I spoke to Steve Sunshine today and he's game.
Just let us know where and when. Any chance for a sunday afternoon? might be able to drag out some of the long island group as well. -dan |
Sunday afternoons you have to fight the "kiddies" for shared track time. Only one indoor track, attached to a rather large indoor laser tag,"foam frenzy" (you have to see it, as it is tough to explain), bowling, coin ops, party type atmosphere..............
Will check it out this Sunday afternoon (my son has a birthday party to attend), and let you guys know what it is like....... Bill S. |
ok. nix the sunday idea. let us know a week night. do they have the Rotax carts? how long is the track? shifter or shiftless? where's the track?
given the competition will be high we need to guarantee the carts are setup the same and have the same hp. maybe we can get transam-jim to be chief scrutineer! -dan NYC  |
Not sure of what type of carts they are, I do know they are all computer controlled, and they can dial up or dial down your cars performance at the click of a mouse. The track starts out with a small lazy s, then a hairpin right hand 180 degree turn, followed by another lazy s, followed by left hand 180 degree hairpin turn, short straight, followed by another 180 degree right hand turn, long straight into a 80 degree right hand turn back to another 80 degree right hander back in to the first set of turns.....The track itself is just a little slick, but nowhere near the slick track of the old "Speedway 17". You can get the cars to power slide through some of the turns, but the real trick is to not end up piled up at the hairpin turns, as the brakes are quite touchy. The times listed above is still what the folks running the place suggest....perhaps one night over the holiday break, or whenever, as I have off from the 22nd of this month, to the 21st of next month, and my sons operation is not scheduled for that time...................
Yours in Fords, Bill S. PS: Anyone want a jet powered racing cart that goes 175+mph in the quarter mile :D :D :D ........ Quote:
