Bear Mountain Cruise

Last night Tom Raddin and I checked out this cruise night at the Bear Mountain Inn in NY.. We took 87 north to xt 16 in Harriman then took Route 32 across (nice road) to Cornwall and then down 9W (Even nicer road) to Bear Mountain.

There were no less than 200 cars with vendors, outdoor BBQ, DJ and cash bar. There were three other Cobras there: an FFR, a Lone Star owned by CC member Randy and his wife Debbie, and a Classics Roadster. A beautiful night....and FREE.

This is a weekly event and some of us Joisey boys might want to take a run up there. The roads are really nice, especially going up and down Storm King Mountain.

Roscoe
How long did it take to get up there?
depending on how long it takes I might be able to go, I have to work the next day early so it depends on the time.
please let me know thanks
Felix

Felix,
Well it should only take about an hour (maybe less) to get there. The most direct route would be Parkway to 287 east to Palisades Pkwy to Route 6 to 9W. We left at 8 but it was still going strong.

We took a longer route up to take advantage of the winding roads just north of Bear Mt. I left my place about 4: 30 and I met Tom at the Sloatsburg rest area on 87 at 5:00. From there it's about 45 minutes taking the long route.

Roscoe let me know if you want some nice rides around Bear Mountain and surrounding Harriman State park. That is my back yard after all. Take a ride up to Perkins Peak nice ride and view.WARNING - DO NOT go during the week end. You will encounter masses of unlicensed idiots out of the Bronx and Brooklyn. Two of my buddies were creamed and I was run off the run on our bikes.
