Thanks guys, I think I'll order one of those mirrors.
Can someone who has run at Pocono before tell me a little what it is like? Tight corners, wide corners, what types of speed you reach??? Steve |
Steve,
Check out this PDA site it is a video of the North course. I'm driving the blue # 142 FIA Cobra. It tells it all. Click on (Movies) http://www.imp-auto.com/pda/ Joe R. |
Joe,
I actually tried that link a while ago. I'm computer stupid. For some reason, my computer is unable to view those. This is my work computer, which was probably built in 1974. Can you give me a brief description? Steve |
Steve,
Be on the 'lookout' for some good sized holes in the pavement on the infield (may upset the car in turns). My guess is they still haven't fixed them and if not, they are right on the line on some infield turns. |
Steve,
You do need relatively fast internet access and a Quick Time video viewer software which can be downloaded free on the WeB. Distributed by Apple for PC's. John is right, there are a few dips near turn in points, but can be easily avoided. There is also ample run-off. I would take it quite easy, stay within your limits, learn the track, don't drive over your head, you will have a great time. Joe R. |
As I recall there are some bad bumps on the left hand turn commonly referred to as the Bosch turn on the infield. John is correct that the bumps are severe enough that they can bounce the car severely. So you may prefer to take the turn off line and recover going into the following off camber right turn.
I don't recall any other bad bumps on the north course. Than again I may be so far off the prefered line that I never see them!!! It amazes me that the Pocono management is aware of the one badly torn up turn and yet year after year do not seem to repair it. I get the impression that they make so much money hosting two annual NASCAR events that any other events held at the track are pocket change |
Thanks for the info guys. What kind of speeds are you reaching, both in the straights and in the corners?
