First ride/road test

Took her out for first ride today! I may never get this silly grin off my face!!After tentative starts and stops to make sure nothing
fell off. I eased on the throttle in 1st gear than easy shift to 2nd
and figured what the heck, nail it. Oh my God I'll never do that again!! Came home changed shorts, then went for a short cruise.
This thing feels like it's on rails and the torque is simply amazing.
I thought my '88 Vette was quick, hah. The exhaust is a little noisy but in 5th gear
every thing calms down and she just burbles along. Wow I am
impressed. Hurry cruise nights!!

Art,

Have a great time! Life is short and shorts are cheap - enjoy!

As jealousy and envy sets in.........I look forward to posting this myself about a year from now.

Good luck and stay safe!

Bill,
I have to take car for inspection tomorrow and then I want to jack her up and go over every nut and bolt again before I take any long rides. You understand safety first!

Art:

You never forget your first ride. When I still think of mine, it still makes me smile.

I agree with Jim above, life is so very short, enjoy it when you can. Never know whats around the corner.

Congratulations on the new ride!

I was wondering if you could answer a small question on handling for me. I too have an 88 vette. I was wondering if your Cobra's Mustang II suspension is up to par with it on cornering. Also, do you have any special add ons to the suspension?

Art Burtt 04-27-2004 06:21 PM

I have tubular front suspension with coil overs. Coil overs in the back too. It rides stiff but like it's on rails. Like the Vette it's hard to tell where the edge is,hope I never find out!
