Real Cobra fun

Any of you Tri Staters tired of the car shows yet,(talk about boring). If we can get Roscoe, mrmustang, Bill Karns out to the track there is no reason some of you other guys can't show up for a little track time.

I know you have all heard the horror stories of damaged cars on the track but most of those stories come from guys looking for any excuse to not go fast.

If you got 400-500-600 HP how about finding out what it feels like to really drive with all that power. Drag racing don't count, you got sports cars not drag cars.

Personally I can't think of a bigger waste of time and money than a high HP car sitting in a parking lot with a California duster stroking the paint job.

Come on guys car shows are for the old folks 75 plus.

Last great Open Track event of the year for the East Coasters

Watkins Glen October 8,9,10 with PDA

I really wanted to go this year. I think it would be best for me to start at Pocono, but you guys wont go there. Do you think you guys can bring yourselves to go slummin' in PA before the end of the season?

Doug Axelrod brought his Supereformance to WGI last month and I had him up to some respectable speeds by the second day.
To most of us Pocono is a poor substitute for a road course. Better than nothing but only slightly.%/

Turk 09-07-2004 07:11 PM

Hey Roger,
Maybe it is not the racing that is keeping these guys away.

Could it be the presence of Mr.Mustang and Roscoe?

TURK

mrmustang 09-08-2004 02:17 AM

Turk,

I'm a semi regular on the road course (the same old adage applies...Time & money), while Roscoe was a one time apparition.....To each his own I always say..........To those who are intimidated by WGI, don't be........The driving schools are not about how fast you can make it around the track, but how fluid and smooth a lap you can do by the end of the weekend. Higher speeds are just a by product of that..............

Dane,
I've got 4 runs at Pocono, but never at the Glen. I'm going to make my first run there later this month. I did get to ride in Crankys' car last month and even as a passenger for just a few laps, it was obvious how incredible the Glen is.

That said, because I live fairly close (1 1/2 hours) to Pocono, I'll still get some seat time there if time and money allow. I think PDA has one more event there, but not sure who else is running. When were you planning on going?

Steve

if you're going to drive out to Pocono to race...drive right past it and keep on driving until you get to Summit Point in WV.

Pocono blows.......and so does Roscoe. %/ %/ %/

klayfish 09-08-2004 07:46 AM

John,
Are you going to make Summit Point in November?

John McMahon 09-08-2004 08:09 AM

not sure yet, I'd like to but I'm busy moving my fiancee into my house and selling her place. If I go, I'll probably sign up at the last minute.

Roscoe 09-08-2004 09:20 AM

HEY MCMAHON!

You never cease to impress me with your wit, the 'Bon Mon" at the perfect time, the subtlty, the tact......

It amazes me that you take the time to take that dick out of your ass to respond to a thread.....

Your buddy,
Roscoe

John McMahon 09-08-2004 09:22 AM

HEY ROSCOE!!!!!

If the d*ck fits...wear it....I do.
