Are wipers required in NJ?

I'm trying to put together my "list" for musts and "like to haves" for the build of my car; someone mentioned that I may be required to have wipers in NJ. Does anyone know?

TIA for any answers

wipers

most states requirements for wipers are determined by the car manufacturer
itself. if the vehicle came equipped with wipers they are required. however
with that being said in the state of new jersey if your car is registered as a
historic car, IE: QQ plates, state safety inspection at the dmv will not be
required and you can get away without wipers. on a different note there are
some nj specific requirements to get the car licensed and\or titled, i would suggest contacting the dmv for the specific info

RAO - Get the wipers for the car.

You will probably be stuck at one point or another ducking your head behind the windshield watching the wipers clear the windows during some random NJ thunderstorm.

JWheaton has a good point and it was kind of a "why didn't I think of that" moment for me when I read his posting, so I will be getting the wipers anyway.

I do plan to call DMV, may as well find out from the source.

Wipers in NJ??

Absolutely have them installed - will save you a trip back to DMV

Will the NJ DOT accept the quick jacks or do you need to have bumpers? When I spoke with the inspectors just recently they indicated bumpers were required. So does that mean quick jacks will not be accepted? For those of you that have recently gone through the inspection process please let me know your experiences

Must have front and rear bumpers to pass the initial inspection to get your title.

Wipers and heater box

RAO-3 Ray I think the wipers come with the base package. The heater, deforster may be a option. It's been sooooo loooonnnnnggggg ago I forgot.**):JEKYLHYDE;):LOL: Yes you do need wipers in NJ unless it's a per 20's car. Rick L.

Get the bumpers. Just one little bump from some google-eyed driver behind you and the body will be junk. At least the bumpers give you a chance. They look pretty good, too.
