VIR 50th Anniversary
Anyone planning to head to VIR on June 9th for the historic race and show? There are supposed to be some special guests there for the event. Any bets on Old Shel' showing?? He won the inaugural race there 50 years ago.

VIR 50th Anniversary
According to the VIR web site, the Gold Cup Historic Races at Virginia International Raceway will be held June 8-9-10, 2007 to celebrate the 50th anniversary of VIR’s opening in 1957. It was August 3, 1957 that Carroll Shelby won the feature race in a Maserati 450S.
This week's Speed Sport News says Carroll Shelby will be there as well as Chris Economaki, who served as the announcer for VIR’s inaugural race in 1957. |
Joe: I'll be there. Are there any events planned for the Cobra bunch providing there will be a "bunch?" I'm bringing the GT40 as SASCO is going to mount new Avon's on it in place of the hard T/As that are presently fitted to the car. Otherwise, I'd bring the Cobra.
Anyway, please let me know if there are any plans for a coral, track event, show or whatever. Thanks. |
