Thinking of moving to Charlotte
OK, the wife and I are thinking of moving to Charlotte from Las Vegas. I have three boys, ages 5, 11 and 14 so they are getting ready for kindergarten, middle school and high school so it seems like a good time. Las Vegas just isn't the environment we want them in, especially for high school.
Anyway, any information I can get on the area would be helpful. I have SPF 2813 with a Roush 427. What is registration like for these cars? I would imagine it shouldn't be too hard since it is already registered in NV, but I wanted to know if there is anything special I need to know about. Also, any suggestions about the area itself would be appreciated. The primary are so far has been the Myer's Park District and Ballantyne Country Club. Thanks |
... depends on where you're going to be working. If you're working in the downtown area, Myers Park would definitely be preferable. The Balantyne area means you're going to have to deal with the beltway... which, from what I understand, has gotten a little congested.
Nice city tho... lived there for 8 years. Pretty, nice climate, great restaurants... lots of local "mom & pop" type places. I liked the Pineville/Matthews area... was working out by the "old" colisseum at the time. That said, has been a while since I lived there (~8 years), so things have likely changed. Best of luck on your decision... |
Nice area for your car Oltoff Racing about 30 miles away, Dennis knowes these cars inside and out.

There is a very active SPF community in this region. Mike Stenhouse and Hal Copple and a host of other enthusiasts call this area home. If you are into tracking your car Carolina Motorsports Parkway and VIR are both nearby. The biggest asset would be having Dennis Olthoff available to service your car. There is NO ONE outside of South Africa that knows more about Superformance cars and how to make them run like scalded dogs.

Some of public schools in the CMS do not have a very good rating (Meeting grade level). Im from a small town (one shooting death in 14 years) so I’m not used to the crime rate, Shooting almost every night on the news in Charlotte. Over all it has great weather, low taxes and the bad economy has not hit here as hard as other places.
