Joined the Weber ranks
Well, my engine finally arrived. Maybe if it cools off here (110 yesterday) we'll get this installed and tuned.
http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...S_427_005a.jpg Jim Inglese sent them with the initial tune so they will be close (thanks Jim!), but there may be little adjustments needed later. I'm sure I'll have questions when the time arrives. John |
Sweet, let us know how well they work! Congrats....

More engine info please
Engine looks impressive!
Who built it and what kind of HP and cost! |

Great looking combo, bet it will be a stump puller for torque. |

I'm fine if it's less than that, and it likely will be with the smaller chokes. Quote:
This will be mostly street and autox, I'm looking more for acceleration than top end. |

What did Jim tell you to use for initial timing? Looking forward to the dyno results! - Allen. |
Jim is great to deal with, straightened out my problems. The car runs great! People do a double take when they see those Webes under the hood.

Jim recommends 38 deg. full advance. If you have a digital MSD use a seperate
power source for the timing light |
I have the same Ford Racing 427. I've been running a Holley 750 double pumper without choke. I just ordered a Weber setup fom Jim. The holley was exceptable after I got it jetted closer to the way I use it. It still likes to trailerhitch in the lower gears. Jim says I shouldn't have that oroblem with the Webers
A note on the the engine, Ford rates it's power at 5600rpm. I have an aluminum flywheel and instantly get into the 6000rpm rev limiter in the first two gears. I installed a 7000rpm chip in the MSD box and to my surprise the engine has massive power up to 6600rpm. Go figure. Ed |
