347 44 IDF choke size?

Hello.

I'm in the process of doing a initial setup on my 44 IDF carbs.
I will use them on a 347 with 10.3:1 compression, Comp Cams hydraulic roller, duration at 0.50" 224 int/232 exh, valve lift 0.555 int/0.565 exh, 112 degrees lobe separation, operating range 2200 rpm-6200 rpm.
The current chokes in the carbs is 36 mm, looking in the Weber tuning manual they seem to small.
I prefer a good street driveability before high rpm performance.
What do you think I should go for, trying the current 36 mm chokes or going for 38 or 40 mm chokes?
If someone has a motor with similar specs, please share your carb settings.

Regards Orjan.🙂

I have a 331, slightly smaller cam than yours. Running 44IDF with the 36 chokes. Dynoed 308 hp at the wheels. This car has beautiful street manners, no bucking, no reversion, fuel injection-like smoothness.

Running stock jetting other than idle jets, using 52 idle jets. My engine was very sensitive to idle jet selection.

Hello.

Thank you for your input👍🙂, I guess the best is to start with the current jetting I have and go from there.
