I'm the one Matt's referring to. I went with a Shelby alum. block stroked to 454. My cam specs are: lift 645/635, duration 242/248, and lobe seperation 112 degrees. Pics are in my gallery. Below is my current setup on the webers, but, I'm way pig rich right now. We used this setup when the engine was dyno'd at Keith's shop. With no exhaust on it, we had to richen it up quite a bit. Matt and I just haven't had time to fine tune it on a chassis dyno yet. On the engine dyno, the motor was run up to 6500 rpm and we didn't notice any popping back through the carbs. When we get around to fine tuning it, I'll let you what the final setup is. Chokes: 37MM Bypass: 55 Idle Holders: 120 Emulsion Tubes: F7 Air Correctors: 200 Main Jets: 175 Idle Jets: 70 David ps: Not that it matters, but, with this setup the motor dyno'd at 544 hp and 606 torque. The great thing was that peak torque was at 4400 rpm. :) Gotta love these webers |

I had a rich situation with mine as well. I could not get it to idle clean and not stumble. I had to run rich to get past the stumble. I went with less overlap on the camshaft and it cured all of my problems. I was 248 @ .050 as well. I went to 230 @ .050 and life was great. Good luck Brent |
Thanks both of you. My cam specs are Int 234, exh 244, lobe sep 112, lift 520/540. However, I don't know how much overlap I have. How can determine OL as it is defined? Aggie, I am going with your set up as a starting point. I will not be racing it so I think the 37's will be ok also.
What are all of your thoughts on linkage. I am inclined to make my own, with a lot of help from my friend with the GT 350. He made his own and it is very trick. He can adjust each carb individually with the heim joint linkage to each carb. What are the feelings on the linkages from Inglese and others on the market? Talk to Tim Black he goes by blackGT350 or something like that. I will try to find it..I will also call him and get him to post. He has a 66 350 with webers and had a world or a hard time getting the linkage to pull the carbs in sync..he finally found a setup that worked well on his car. Matt |
