Switching from Weber to FI ???????

Hello All,

I have thinking of switching from my current weber setup IDA 48 to the Dynatek Fuel Injection system which looks like the webers.

Has anyone thought about making the change of even doing the change?

Is it work the switch or should I stay with the Webers

Take the car to someone that can get them dialed in and you''ll be happy. If you have other engine issues, the Webers will manifest them.

Why??????

priobe why???? To switch to an FI system will set you back about $7,500.00. I love FI systems and will put the 58mm TWM setup on my 498 motor this year if everything works out ok. You know you will need to change your fuel system, add a bigger fuel pump, larger supply line and possible return line. The programming of the system once installed is about $150.00 per hour with about 2-4 hours to get all the modes setup. You will need to find a dry place for the ECU. Some are not water proof. If you are caught in the rain, you may be sitting under that bridge along time.%/ If you are having problem with the webers, there are a couple of guys here running them and can get your car running better. An LM-1 o2 sensor would go along way to help in tuning your car. It reads the air/fuel mixture when the car is running at all rpms and loads. You will need airfilters also for the throttlebodies. Depending on your car and how low the motor is in the chassic, this could be a problem also. Some systems have no idle control on them. There alot more info than just this. My fingers are tired. Priobe, it does get very frustrating, doesn't it? But hang in there bro. There IS light at the end of the tunnel. Once the Webers are dialed in, they're sweet.

Priobe, before running out & putting your $$$ out take the time to find a car in similar state of engine build to your own and get a ride in it-speak to the owner-find out all you can. I have asked around & have not found any in depth info at all-either positive or negative, its a relatively new system on the market. I am not judging it, just like you would like more 'factual' info- on paper it looks like the 'Bees Knees'.

In the meantime one 4bbl on a sidewinder manifold will fill the gap with a lot less hassle;)

Rick, We have an IAC now, and we also have a better screen/filter setup. We have K&N filters for the small blocks and I'm still running the group purchase of 10% off a complete setup for 5 or more buyers. $650.00 or more savings, not small potatoes!

RICK LAKE 02-21-2008 11:57 AM

It's about time

thorconstr Well Al it's about time.:rolleyes:I figured if a waited long enough you would get them done. I also will nedd the short cable kit like what you have for your car. I may install the 58mm on the 482 for this year. Alot depends on the job market.**):JEKYLHYDE;)What do you think the price will be about. Do you have a picture of the new block? Thanks Rick L.

So does this mean you have filters for the larger BB 427 throttle bodies....not sure what "IAC" means.

...i should have been more detailed b/c as we all now regular filters are a tough fit in the front stacks.....my question is really asking if you have better filters/screens available now for the larger throttle bodies?

Rick, Good to hear from you! I just priced a FE setup on this thread, http://www.clubcobra.com/forums/fuel...tml#post817768 the group purchase would save you some $$$$$. IAC below.

Air filters

Kramer, We have a new screen mesh/foam filter that works pretty well. On a dyno there was very little HP loss. It's pictured below. The IAC is the idle air control which helps the idle at startup. I just peddle mine for a few seconds, but if that is not acceptable then we have the IAC for $249.00 your price/ $311.00 list price.

Kramer 02-22-2008 12:45 PM

Al, I looked that the pic. Do I understand from the pic above that the screen cap also has a foam filer inside...if so (given that I have nothing else yet) I am interested. Let me know if you are around today (or over the weekend) and I will call to get them ordered.

I tried to call today, but couldn't reach you.
