They are only about 25-30 each from redline. Doubt if you can build them for less. Redline also has a taller filter, but I don't remember the size. These just barely clear my hood with the spacers under the carbs.

oh sorry i was going to make just 2 filters that covered 2 carbs front to back instead of a different one for each carb but i couldnt find a filter that was tall enough in the length i wanted so i will probably just go with the individual carb filters like the ones shown on page 1
thanks guys jeff |
What is the better system to use?
 - AIR STACK BOOTIES (http://www2.cip1.com/ProductDetails....12%2D1630%2D14) - Velocity Stack Filters (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...=STRK:MEWAX:IT) |
I think it comes down to "what's the least ugly" vs. "What impedes airflow the least". There are a number of solutions out there & filters for a 600hp BB Cobra may not be as big of a deal as Filters for a 400hp SB when it comes to AirFlow & cutting back on a couple HP

Weber Air Filtering
I've been planning on making an airbox for my car similar to what was used on all the factory race cars, just incorporating a tall oval air filter around the webers that seals to the hood. The air coming into the scoop is deflected carefully down to pressurize the area around the filter, which avoids the turbulance over the stacks that causes alot of problems. The filter can be sized to have virtually no restriction... I was thinking of cutting and end off two Mopar hemi oval air filters and bonding them together. The filter element also ends up not being directly in the line of any reversion fuel that may come out of the stacks to hopefully mimimize chances of fire.

I have always wanted to run a common airbox, and may still do one day. There are filter elements available from K&N etc. |
