Adjusting individual throttle plates?

I have found during synchronization that I have different flow rates on the same carb. I thought i read somewhere that sometimes it is neccesary to adjust the throttle plate due to mismatch or shaft twist. Any input or repair recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks.

Take the carb off and after emtying the fuel, back off the idle speed screw (not idle mixture) and hold the carb up to a strong light, looking throught the top of the carb. You want to verify the throttle plates are closing properly and very little (if any) light shines around the perimeter of the throttle plates. If necessary adjust plates within the shaft. If any screws are removed use red Locktite when replacing them. Then reinstall the carb and sycronize as well as possible. If necessary you can use some very small open end wrenches (like ignition wrenches) on the flats of each end of the throttle shaft. You do not want to use anything that will give you a lot of leverage. Twist gently, opening the one with lesser flow to match the other, do this gently. Recheck with flow meter until you are satisfied, then resyncronize.

This assumes ther is no mechanical differnces betwen cylinders such as bad valve, worn cylinder or major compression difference.

Do you have the interconnected linkage?

If so they are very hard to get in sych..

You may want to try to build your own to isolate each carb, after building a solid linkage it took less than 15 minutes to get mine adjusted.
