"Booties"
You might entitle this as a "Bootie Call"
Anyone have an opinion regarding the elastic mesh "Booties" that fit over the Velocity Stacks on IDA's and who sells them? I have a set of the more common thin sponge type that is sandwiched with steel mesh surrounded by a rubber ring, but they seem somewhat restrictive.
Thanks

Rick, take a look in my gallery. Pierce sells the stainless mesh filters for $35 a pair. They work great. no restriction. Inglese sells the nylon booties that look like they were cut out of a hookers black panty hose. They don't recommend them for the steel air horns as there is no lip for them to grip. They work better on the spun aluminum air horns.

I have those for my car, but don't use them much. I tuned the car with open stacks. Put the Tea Strainers on, and ran it on the dyno for a fun dyno day. Power was down, and mixture was rich. I popped the "filters" off, and immediatly gained a perfect AF ratio, and gained 100hp. Yes, that's right - 100 dyno proven hp. Now, some of that could be gained back by leaning out the mixture appropriatly. But you'de never get 100hp back. They're just too restrictive.
I really like the steel mesh one's from peirce. I' definatly looking at buying those in the very near future.
