Tell us why your here.:3DSMILE:

Looks like a spam/abuse user to me. The jumble name, the random avatar, the www and ICQ links... trips my board-runner sensors.

dcdoug 11-10-2009 07:34 AM

And the nonsensical location.

"Bing - It's better than Google"

Plus he thinks Bing is better than Google, Microsoft Shill??

Gunner 11-10-2009 09:17 PM

It's the thin end of a wedge. They come in with neutral/benign sigs and such, let their bots build a whole chain of generic messages and threads, then stop by to change it to cheap Viagra or casinos or something. Poof, board full of grotty advertisements.

I see it all the time on my forums and have learned to ID the perps and stomp 'em out early.

lineslinger 11-10-2009 10:25 PM

Hell, he offers up a novice style intro post and consensus opinion 7 posts later is into "stomping the guy out early".
Maybe make some allowances from your expertise and let the mods sort em' out.
He could be legit.

Gunner 11-10-2009 10:30 PM

Lineslinger, I'll bet you one Carroll Shelby dollar that this is not a legitimate user. Step back and look at how bogus everything about it is, including the utterly generic message and random choice of forum to post the message in. I get these ab/users ten a week and I'd bet this forum does as well; this is just one that's slipped through the cracks.

thudmaster 11-10-2009 11:45 PM

He certainly picked an intresting forum to enter. We rarely use this one. But he is welcome.

Alright bud...you keep talking about your experience as a mod and how you'd do things.

Well, this is how we do things: Until someone gives us reason to stomp, we give the benefit of the doubt around here.

The newbie has given me no reason to stomp on him at this juncture.

You have...enjoy a few days off.

That's how we do things around here.

P.S. It's also noted that the three folks who all went after the thread starter just joined in 2009.

lineslinger 11-11-2009 07:41 AM

Huh...apparently the mods are sorting them out.;)
