WSCB-Track Day Maps / Road Course "F"

Hi Folks,

I wanted to post these course maps in case you did not get them via email. Not sure if it came through in your Track Day Guide.

This is going to be a great configuration and you should be able to pick it up fast enough to start having some real fun within the second or third session.

You'll be going up the "Hoot-n-Hollar Hill Climb", like last year, but coming down the "Slide" which is a nasty down hill off-camber right turn that opens up wide to a straight away passing zone. Should be a blast!

See you soon, John :MECOOL:

Hmmmm....muy goodo. :D

Am I wrong, or did we pick up a long-assed straight between 21 and 23?

jmarsey 04-09-2007 01:45 PM

Jamo,

No, we had that straight, #21 thru #23, last year. What is new, besides cutting off 13 miles of twisties and a stop to take a leak in between, is coming off a cliff at #9 thru #19 and the straight from #19 thru #20.

Hey Chris,

Yes it will be a fun course and you let me know if I can help, ok?

Talk soon, John

Looks like a great course...not that last years version wasn't a lot of fun, which it was...good to be a little different. I did not get the attachments sent with either of the two emails sent by Duane but I emailed him back so hopefully he will send the attachments soon. Can't wait for the big event.

jmarsey 04-09-2007 07:42 PM

Cindy,

Yes it is and you're going to love it.

looks like alot of fun!!!!! thats going to be some serious speed in the back there!!!

Jamo 04-09-2007 08:33 PM

Sure didn't seem straight last year...that may be where we were doing the drifting exercises.

Me thinks this is all going to be muy goodo.

dblbarrel 04-09-2007 09:45 PM

I thought the longest straight last year was the front straight.
I am easily confused.

This is really a neat course configuration. You guys are REALLY going to like this, even much better than last year. Not too long, not too short....ahhhhhhh - just right. When we got there to test run it for the in-car video, I believe we had something different in mind, and the sport bikes were using this layout. Once we all drove it, taking away a few more corners, it did not take long to figure out this was gonna be it. It's a real pleasure to drive slow or at speed. :D

The front straight is obviously the longest "straight" and where the highest speeds are reached. We will have some rules to follow in order to keep speeds down on the front straight before entering turn #1, like we'll have to be off the gas at the start/finish line so your entry speed into 1 is at a safe speed. We've seen club bikes hitting 165mph on the front straight, to give you an idea.

#21 - #23 is a dog leg straight and the turn-in at #23, and onto the straight, is slower than the turn-in at #1, so you don't get as much speed back there. But it's a cool little straight from #22 to #23 because you dive down to the apex of #23, accelerate and go wide out onto the straight! It's very smooth and like Duane said, you don't have to be going fast to have fun on this course! You'll love it. :D

John
