Where do I sign up?

Hey-

Joe here from Naperville.... FFR 5068. Black/ White stripes. I've been PLAUGED with issues that I think we finally have figured out... So, I have pent up cruise / rally/ racing needs that need to be satisfied now that I'm pretty sure it won't just stall randomly (arrgggg) at the corner of 75th and Naper-plainfield or somewhere equally inconvenient or embarrasing.

Looking forward to seeing your cars!!!

ps- "taipan" was the only snake name that wasn't taken. It now looks rather ridiculous but it is what it is....!

beats some of the names people call each other.......

Glad to hear the gremlins are sorted out!

Welcome Joe, The WCCC is meeting at Byron Dragway on Oct 17 th or the 18 th if it rains. See the thread I started below. Come on out to run it or just to meet some of the club members and see the cars.

As far as joining the club, that takes a lot. We are very exclusive, like you must buy some "Ocean Front Property" in AZ from me and only ME.

All kidding aside, if you PM me your e-mail address, I will forward to one of our directors to get you in.

Say Taipan....I'm located in Naperville about 2 miles from the intersection of 75th Street and Plainfield-Naperville Road. I have a Unique Motorcars Cobra. PM me with you contact info if you're interested in any help or just to share build stories. I've been to a couple of WCCC activities this year, and the people in the club are great.

Karl- I have MHR move the coil off the block, but what I think the issue was that there weren't enough grounds on the car... They added one from the battery negative directly to the block and the jumpy tach and stalls haven't occured since. Does that sound logical to you?

Gess Motorsport 10-14-2009 11:43 AM

Yes, grounds can cause all kinds of odd problems!

Joe,
I drove through your area all summer, and never saw you on the road! I was doing a project at the Kraft plant on Ogden ave and drove my car to work almost every day! My car has moved south for the winter, but you'll have to get together with the WCCC at the Schaumburg Fudrucker's on the first Thurs of the month.
Glad you got your car running well. I just drove mine to Fla. What a drive! Car ran like a champ with really good MPG! Who would have thunk it?
Meet you soon,
Sten

Holy Moly, Sten, tell us more of your trip! If you don't want to hijack this thread, start a new one.
You'll get the WCCC IRON BUTT award! :p
