June 5 - Sunday Snake and Sandwiches

As the forecast for Sunday is a little cooler and drier, I am proposing a late Snake and Eggs (therefore it's Snake and Sandwiches) at MYOB at 8420 Brookfield Ave, Brookfield, Il 60513. It opens at 11:00 and we should plan to get there about that time to get good tables (it's a tiny place). There should be plenty of good diagonal parking spots, as it is right across from the Hollywood (Zoo Stop) Metra Station.

For info about the restaurant: MYOB

Food is homemade and wonderful! Ned is the crazy cook and also a car guy, and Barbie makes fabulous desserts.

Please RSVP below, so I can give them a heads-up on how many people to expect.

I visited their website and I'm a little concerned..
On it they said: (and I quote)
"We are an environmentally and socially conscious kind of place" -
"80% of their garbage is recycled." -
"While carnivores, They are building a full vegetarian menu." -
"You can bring your own record, tape, mp3 and if it doesn't suck - we will play it."

So a few questions immediately come to mind...
1. Will we get "CARBON CREDITS" if we attend with the Cobras?
2. Does this mean Wolfy can bring the music he listens to and they will play it? And if so...Out-loud?
3. Will he dance to it?
4. If not ... Will he be allowed to do the Hokey-Pokey with the other diners again at the restaurant?

ned is alright, but it is a miracle he is alive.

He is sore and bruised and battered so we will have to be closed for the next few days til we get everything straight.

I'm in.

Great story. I'm driving home today from work -been driving that route for 10 years and I've never seen a Cobra. I'm driving my recently semi-completed car for only the second time and up next to me pulls a beautiful silver FFR. It's KRHayden. We pull over and talk for a few minutes (it was great meeting you).

Since the MYOB is possibly closed, what about Irish Times in Brookfield? Just a couple blocks west and plenty of parking.

I'm open to anywhere though and looking forward to this Sunday!
Craig

I'm in too!

It was great meeting you today Craig. Great looking car!

Yes, MYOB is closed until Ned recovers from his car accident. I'm just glad he's ok!

Irish Times is fine with me. For those unfamiliar with the area, the address is 8869 Burlington Avenue, Brookfield, IL 60513. At the intersection of Prairie and Burlington. It is just south of the Brookfield downtown area and Metra Station, and again, there will be lots of parking right in front.

It's also just up the road from the house, so I will try to get there around 11 (when they open). Storms just went through and the forecast looks like more rain tonight and tomorrow morning, but will hopefully be clear by lunch.

Weather is showing good (NOAA and weather channel). I can make it.

If Blas shows, I'll take a wiring diagram off his hands.

We had 5 cars, lots of great chatting and food (and many comments from people passing by). Had a great time!

Martin - the owner - came out to chat when Al and I were getting ready to leave. He offered to waive the space fee for either The Cottage (their private room space) or the Beer Garden (outdoor space) to us for big gatherings. I have a feeling he's going to be looking for a car of his own fairly soon.

I also had a very small world moment, as Craig's wife, Amy, was one of my college classmates! It's a very small world sometimes!

Kate,

Thanks again for arranging the local gathering. It was great chatting with everyone.
