Last Car Cruise-Ins

Went to The Arboretum of South Barrington tonight at Rt72 and Rt 59., quite a nice show of some very interesting cars. Met another potential WCCC member, Larry, with a green 1994 Excalibur Cobra.
The Arboretum will have it's last official show for the season next Wednesday evening. If anyone is interested please lets see a show of hands.

Tomorrow evening is Barrington's last cruise-in for the season also and will go to meet up with Larry again. If anyone is interested in this one, lets see a showing of hands again. I will try to make it fairly early, around 5pm as this one fills up quite early.

After I wrote the above reply, I googled his Cobra and found that the owner, Fritz, died in April 2010 and that CSX 3209 went to Mecum auction a couple of weeks ago. Apparently it did not sell since it was displayed tonight, and when I asked the young driver, Peter, whether he bought the car, he pointed to his passenger and said Mrs. Schiffmayer owns it.
So, Blas, get your checkbook out, it's still for sale!:3DSMILE:

Fritz was an OK guy too. I met up with him a couple times at the Annual Meadowdale Car Show event (Which is coming up soon BTW) He raced his Cobras back in the day and was still racing until his passing. He was involved in the big shunt at Elkhart Lake in 2005. He had a few Cobras in his garage as I recall. Mrs. Schiffmayer (Tina ?) came to Meadowdale last year with the same blue car.
Did you note the 2 small hood scoops and the unique dashboard layout? Had the original AM radio installed too. Was missing a sun shade and had some fiberglass damage in the area around the missing oil cooler when I last saw the car. The auction houses recent photos had the car had it looking great. Tunnel-Port 427, Halibrands. All an all a nice car....

Ralph - I would buy it in a minute if only it were "RED" 8-)
